That clump of balloons just kept getting bigger and bigger through the night. A few more and she probably could have floated away.

I wonder what would have needed such protection. It certainly does make for an interesting architectural detail.

Pink balloons, pink glasses, pink champagne, and a lot of great people who care about art.
Later this month, artist Yazmany Arboleda and a team of Afghani volunteers will surprise Kabul commuters with 10,000 pink balloons. This past Monday, the public was able to join in on the project with the 10,000 Balloons Pop Up at Ludlow Studios. Everyone got to write and sign personal messages to Kabul. Artist Paul Zepeda was also commissioned to create a one-of-a-kind pink goldleaf painting that was auctioned off with the proceeds going to support the balloons and the brand-new Ludlow Space.

Yet another fantastic Tumblr Meetup. I’m very much probably going to regret staying up until 2AM to get these processed and uploaded, but you kids are worth it.

It was quite a madhouse at the meetup tonight. Valentine and Nicola know how to throw a good party. Thanks Diesel for the food and drink and to all the people that came out for being fantastic as always. Stick around for more photos or head over to Flickr for the whole batch.
