Illinois Sterling 1 on Flickr.
I am very much a child of the digital age. I’m sitting here typing this on a laptop, flanked by additional screens on either side, this posting going onto the internet, while a satellite is beaming news from around the world into the TV across the room from me. Still, I like to look back sometimes to the days of the analog world. I’ve been able to date this pocket watch to near the turn of the century, somewhere between the 1880’s to the 1920’s. It still works. One hundred years and it still ticks when I wind it up. I doubt that anything I own today will continue to work one hundred years into the future. This watch is one of the most beautiful works of art I’ve ever seen.
